General requirements

Journal of Natural Sciences considers original research articles, review materials, and experimental research findings that match the journal's subject scope.

The manuscript must not have been published previously or be under review elsewhere. By submitting to the journal, authors confirm the accuracy of the data, proper authorship attribution, and compliance with publication ethics.

Scope of accepted materials

Materials are accepted in fundamental and applied natural science fields, as well as on the teaching of natural science disciplines.

  • chemistry: organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, and computational chemistry;
  • biology: molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, botany, zoology, ecology;
  • geography: physical geography, geoecology, environmental management, landscape studies;
  • methodology of teaching chemistry, biology, geography, and natural sciences;
  • interdisciplinary research in natural sciences and education.

Article structure

The recommended structure of an original research article should ensure transparency of the study and reproducibility of the results obtained.

  1. Article title.
  2. Author information.
  3. Abstract.
  4. Keywords.
  5. Introduction.
  6. Materials and methods.
  7. Results.
  8. Discussion.
  9. Conclusion.
  10. Acknowledgements and funding information, if applicable.
  11. References.

Manuscript formatting

The manuscript must be prepared in an editable format and formatted consistently. The text should be structured, and tables and figures must have titles and sequential numbering.

All abbreviations must be defined at first mention. Units of measurement should follow the International System of Units. Illustrations, graphs, and tables must be of sufficient quality for publication.

Author information

For each author, provide surname, given name, affiliation or study institution, city, country, email address, and ORCID identifier if available.

One author must be designated as the corresponding author. The corresponding author handles communication with the editorial office at all stages of manuscript review.

  • authors must be listed in an order agreed by all contributors;
  • all individuals who made a substantial contribution must be properly included as authors;
  • changes to authorship after submission are permitted only upon justified request and with consent of all authors.

Abstract and keywords

The abstract should briefly state the research objective, methods used, main results, and scientific significance of the work.

Keywords must match the article content and support accurate search, indexing, and thematic identification of the publication.

References

The reference list must include sources directly used in preparing the article. All references must be cited in the manuscript text.

Bibliographic entries must be formatted consistently. When available, DOI should be included in the bibliographic record.

Text originality

All submitted manuscripts may be screened for textual overlap. Overlap alone is not grounds for rejection, but the editorial office assesses its nature, extent, and proper attribution.

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, improper text borrowing, data falsification, fabrication of results, and other publication ethics violations are not permitted.

Manuscript submission procedure

Manuscripts are submitted through the journal's electronic editorial system. Before submission, authors must ensure the file meets journal requirements and contains all required information.

  1. Register or sign in to the journal system.
  2. Select the journal section and material type.
  3. Upload the manuscript file.
  4. Complete author details, title, abstract, and keywords.
  5. Confirm compliance with journal requirements and submit for review.

Peer review

All research articles undergo editorial screening and independent double-blind peer review. The editorial office assesses scope fit, formatting requirements, originality, and publication ethics.

Following review, a manuscript may be accepted, returned for revision, or rejected. The final decision is made by the editorial office based on reviewer reports.

Publication fees

Information on whether submission, review, and publication fees apply must be openly available to authors on the journal website.

If publication fees are charged, their amount, payment procedure, and refund conditions must be published before manuscript submission.
